Invisalign® is a custom-made series of virtually invisible aligners made of a thermoplastic material that look similar to teeth-whitening trays. These aligners are custom-made for you, to shift your teeth in the sequence determined by Dr. Bernard Lynch. Over the course of your treatment, you will be supplied with a series of aligners created only for you. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position. It takes about two weeks for each aligner to make the shifts needed for your teeth to fit into the next aligner set, which will continue the straightening process.

You will have a consultation with Dr. Bernard Lynch where your case will be discussed in detail and he will determine if Invisalign® is right for you. Dr. Bernard Lynch will take x-rays, pictures and impression scans of your teeth, which Invisalign® will use to create a digital 3-D image of them. From these detailed images, Dr. Bernard Lynch will chart a precise treatment plan, including the exact shifts of your teeth, and he will tell you the approximate length of time for your treatment. This digital technology also allows Dr. Bernard Lynch to show you a virtual representation of exactly how your teeth will shift with each stage of treatment.

Like all orthodontics, Invisalign® timing depends entirely on the complexity of the case. The average treatment time for Invisalign® is 12 months, but some treatments have taken less than 6 months while others have taken two years. The aligners provide approximately .25mm of movement to the teeth per aligner. The more crowded your teeth are the more time it will take.
